I learned yesterday that my dearest friend, Carolyn, is back in Henderson, after a year. She left and moved to TN to be with family when she found out she had cancer. I was devastated. All to much I have see what cancer has done to my own family and yes both my grandmothers made It through it but they did not have the worst of forms, but others in my family were not so lucky. The worst of this as close as Carolyn and I are she would not tell any of us what kind it was. Not until 3 months ago did she reveal to me what kind she had. No not breast. It was a kind that most people have very little chance of recovering from. Well she did and I could not be happier for her. She may be coming back to work here to and for me. We made an awesome team when she was here and then I worked for her. She was my maid of honor when Doug and I got married. Friends like her are hard to find. We kept in touch by letters while she was gone. She even sent me a t-shirt from a restaurant her daughter-in-law owned and operated, and where Carolyn was working part time. I might squeeze the crap out of her when I finally see her in person. I am going to try and make it up to the store today when I know she is there to talk to my boss. She is far to precious to me. When I can find my wedding DC I will post a picture of this fine lady.
I talked to my dear Carolyn for a little over an hour tonight. It was so good to hear her voice and not just read letters and to here her tell me about her clean bill of heath and wanting to come work with me. I called my boss right away and left her a message to let her now she was back and would be in for her job back. I also reminded her of her promise of giving her her job and as many hours as she wanted.
