Being Deployed/Jordan

Jordan as a baby in his little Navy outfit. Must been in his blood!! Nevaeh's baptism thaks to him.

Kicking back on leave in March.

Ships good service award he is getting here from the captain in May 2007.

Jordan sent me an e-mail telling me that they are ready to be deployed in a moments time and looks like it could be North Korea, this coming November, because they are a nuke air craft ship. Their first plans were for January 09 same place as last year but this could really change things. Read the article below. I got the article of his ships web page.

By Mass Communication Specialist 3rd Class Jonathen E. DavisUSS John C. Stennis Public Affairs
USS JOHN C. STENNIS, at sea – USS John C. Stennis (CVN 74) received an outstanding on their Final Evaluation Problem (FEP) June 16 when the crew demonstrated they could defend the ship and combat casualties in multiple, complex scenarios.
FEP is a two-day, graded event that tests ships’ abilities to conduct combat missions, survive complex casualties and sustain support functions.
“Stennis hit this one out of the park! The crew set their sights on FEP, with minimal preparation time and achieved a record score that will be extremely hard to beat,” said Stennis Executive Officer Cmdr. David Burnham. “This crew crushed every FEP score in recent carrier fleet history.”
Afloat Training Group (ATG) Pacific, embarked as trainers and evaluators, has been scrutinizing Stennis’ abilities since departing San Diego May 26.
“The John C. Stennis crew was evaluated on their ability to perform operationally and their ability to survive at sea,” said ATG Team Leader Lt. Regina Rogers. “The crew is trained and prepared to respond to any casualty, in the event it comes their way.” To ratchet things up even more, ATG introduced FEP’s Total Ship Survivability Exercise (TSEE). At the peak of casualties and related stress, ATG wanted to determine if Stennis had the ability to survive and recover from significant battle damage.
TSEE combined cumulative casualties to deliver life-like scenarios to Stennis. General quarters (GQ), at-sea fire party and medical drills tested and improved Sailors’ skills. Just like each link in an anchor’s chain must be strong, FEP and TSEE demanded strong performances from Stennis’ individual teams and departments.
The at-sea fire party was evaluated on each of their respected abilities to combat fires, equipment knowledge and provide assistance to personnel casualties. Sailors’ skills were put to the test in repair lockers as they demonstrated their damage control and first-aid knowledge. Stennis’ medical department assisted the wounded during mass casualty drills in the hangar bays and in repair lockers during the evaluation. Combat systems department conducted equipment casualty scenarios on systems like radar, communications and navigation. Operations department created a simulated hostile environment to test Stennis’ ability to defend against missile, small boat and enemy aircraft attacks. Weapons department was assessed on proper procedures of using the .50-caliber guns gun, rules of engagement and communication.
Stennis Combat Direction Center Officer and Integrated Training Team Coordinator Cmdr. Brian Albro said he attributes the success of FEP to every Sailor's skill and knowledge demonstrated during the event.
“I’m always impressed with the crew of John C. Stennis, how we come together and work as a team,” said Albro. “When new challenges were piled on by the training teams, the crew stepped up and performed. You can see it across all the GQs we have done; their performance has increased and continues to be superb.”
FEP is part of the Navy’s commitment to maintain warfighting readiness and to develop its Sailors, essential elements of America’s maritime strategy. The successful completion of FEP shows that Stennis has the solid foundation of unit-level operating proficiency needed to support U.S. interests at home and abroad.

Wind Damgae

Yah a huge gust of wind just came along and I thought we were having a tornado. We do not get them. I ran and looked out the office window and our roof was gone on the patio. Only way to keep house cool on that side of the house. Here are some pictures. This just happened a half hour ago.

Poor King

This is our dog all happy a few weeks ago. He is 126 pounds and thinks he is a lap dog.
He is deaf because he is albino. They come deaf, blind or both. Doug got him from a Great Dane rescue. He got King in WI but King came from Missouri. He had been abused and even had to get his tail cut of because it was broken. He is a very loving and happy dog. Loves children. Yesterday was one of my days off and I was running around getting the oil changed and a ton of other errands. When I got home three hours later I was doing my weekly house cleaning along with my everyday things. I was folding my last load of laundry and talking to Doug on the phone when I looked down at our dog and noticed this huge lump on his leg right above his right paw. I said OMG and Doug was like what and I told him about it. He treats King better than any human was ever treated. He said to me are you sure it's not part of his paw. OK I was not born yesterday. So he told me to take him to the vet. They took us in right away and 10 minutes later the poor thing was having surgery. It was filled with liquid and hard way down in the middle. I felt guilty for not seeing it sooner. He is always with us and playing around with us so I can not believe we missed. While in surgery they found a real small growth which we seen before and thought was just part of him, so they took it off too. We will find out Tuesday if it is cancer or not. It was to big in a part where there is no meat so they could not get all of it out because then they would not have been able to close the wound. Since home we are paranoid. We found two very very very small ones we will have them look at when he goes in Thursday to get his stitches out. In all he has 17 stitches. I am sending you a picture with his cone on his head so that he does not lick or bite it. King is 7 years old.

This is poor King after surgery and home trying to be comfortable while drugged to the max so he would not feel any pain. We both had to lift him out of the car. When I went into the kitchen last night he would stagger out to see where I was. He whined if we were both not in the room at the same time. Today he is a little happy but still not himself. I wouldn't be either with that thing on my head. But it is for his own good.

Catching the Bad Guy

Yesterday at work was so horrible. I went in and hour and 10 minutes late because I was not feeling right. Thank god I am the boss of my department. So my whole entire day went wrong from one thing to the next. I made a $330 mistake on my drawer and did not realize it until the gentleman left. Took me a half hour to figure out how to fix it. SO LUCKY IT WAS FIXABLE WITHOUT THE CUSTOMER. I forgot to put in a code two times. Only did it once. Needless to say all my mistakes were on my cash drawer but by the end of the day I came out only one cent over on my drawer. WOW pure luck. Anyway about 15 minutes before my shift is to end this real tall white male comes up to my counter and asks me if he can cash his money orders by me. Sure why not do them all the time. Only when he handed them to me there were five of them and all of them were for $880.45 cents. That was his first mistake. Money gram money orders can only go up to $500.00 each. They even looked fake in every way to me so before I examined them any further I told him they were fake and I would have to keep them. He gives me this story about receiving them in the mail from fed ex and that the person he got them said if he bought and paid for them he would get all that money plus 10 percent more. He must have thought a chicken shit me out. I called my manger and he told him the same thing I did. So I called security and they called the police. Mind you the guy left by then but I had all 5 money orders. Not thinking what if I would have pissed him off and he pulled a weapon on me. You always think these things afterwards. The police came and I had to fill out a report and go over everything. They ran the name and address on the money orders and they were both fake. Everyone was asking how I could tell they were fake so I had to go over everything on them and then went and got them a real one to see. I go into work today and find out that the guy only changed the first letter in his last name. So they caught him at his house and all the information he used to forge them was still on his computer and he had warrants out for his arrest too. He is in jail now. Out of all the Albertson's around no one has ever kept the money orders and no arrests were ever made. I MADE HISTORY!! HAHAHA!!The store director gave me a card with a $5 gift certificate here is what it said. Great job "Super Faith"! I truly appreciate your attention and commitment to doing the best job you can! You saved our company and our store from a tremendous loss- and to you I am very thankful! You are a terrific role model for your girls! Thank You! Zednka The gift card said WOW thank you for your terrific detective work. Everyone is pissed, especially my husband, because she only gave me a $5 gift card. Do I think it was worth more than that yes I do but I take great pride in knowing I did not let him get away with what could have been a $4402.25 rip off and I stopped it, plus knowing he was caught and was also wanted for other things. Getting people like that off the street makes our life safer. So tell me do you think I should have gotten more and do you think I am nuts because even thou I think may be I should have too I am content?

RE: Destruction

OMG this is taking forever. They stated at 10:30 this morning and it is now 3:45 and not one thing is completed. Here is another thing that kills me. He has Doug helping him. Hello we hired him for a reason. I am a nervous. I guess it is because I am used to relaxing in my home not having it invaded for ever. Thank goodness I have only had to pee today as the upstairs bath is torn apart and the downstairs is where they are currently working. Can not go and blame that on the dog. Farts are different. Ok yes I am bored. Updates to follow.
